Practise taking a taxi in Spanish — with an AI that grades you

A medium-level scenario with two halves: agreeing a price before you get in, and then the small talk a chatty driver expects on the ride.

In much of Latin America the fare is agreed before the car moves, which makes the taxi a negotiation first and a ride second. You ask what it costs to your destination (¿cuánto me cobra?), check whether there is a meter, push back a little if the number is high, and give an address with a landmark, because street numbers are not always enough. Then comes the part learners are least ready for: a driver who wants to talk about where you are from and what you think of the city.

3 mistakes learners make here

¿Cuánto cuesta a el aeropuerto? → ¿Cuánto cuesta al aeropuerto?. A + el always contracts to al.
Deje me aquí. → Déjeme aquí. With an affirmative command the pronoun attaches to the verb, and the stress needs a written accent.
¿Cuánto es la costa? → ¿Cuánto cuesta? / ¿Cuánto me cobra?. La costa is the coast; the cost is el costo, but the verb is what people actually use.
