Practise checking in at a hotel in Spanish — with an AI that grades you
An easy-level scenario for the front desk: confirm the booking, ask about the room and the wifi, sort out a problem, extend a night.
The hotel desk is a friendly place to practise because the receptionist wants the same outcome you do. You give your name for the booking (a nombre de…, not "for"), ask what is included and when you have to leave the room, get the wifi password, and — because something always needs fixing — explain that the hot water is not working or ask for another towel. Most of it is questions, most of it is polite, and all of it is usted.
Juntos rates "En el hotel" easy: the AI receptionist speaks clearly, answers directly and prompts you for what it needs. It is a good scenario for the hay vs. está distinction (is there a safe? where is the gym?), for estar with states (está incluido) and for the polite conditional quisiera. The phrases below cover the check-in, the stay and the check-out.

How the AI session works
You open the En el hotel scenario (check in, ask about the room & wifi) and the AI takes the other role. In the app this scenario is rated easy, which sets the vocabulary, sentence length and pace the AI starts with. You can also choose easy, medium or hard for any scenario, so the same conversation grows with you from A2 to B2.
Every message you send is scored 0–100 for grammar, vocabulary, fit with your level and how quickly you replied. Tap the score and you see one clear piece of feedback and the specific corrections: what you wrote, what a native speaker would have written, and why. Mistakes that keep recurring are filed into your Error Bank and come back in spaced-repetition reviews.
Prefer to speak? AI Call mode runs the same scenario by voice: tap the mic, say your line, and the AI transcribes it, replies out loud in Latin American Spanish and grades your spoken turn. For a situation like this one, doing it by ear is the closest thing to the real conversation.
3 mistakes learners make here
- Tengo una reservación para López. → Tengo una reservación a nombre de López. A booking is "in the name of" someone: a nombre de.
- ¿Está un gimnasio en el hotel? → ¿Hay gimnasio en el hotel?. Asking whether something exists uses hay; está is for where a known thing is.
- El desayuno es incluido. → El desayuno está incluido. "Included" is the result of a decision — a state — so estar.
