Practise meeting a fellow traveller in Spanish — with an AI that grades you

A medium-level scenario for the hostel kitchen and the long bus ride: where are you from, where have you been, what should I do here, want to get dinner?

The traveller conversation is the same everywhere in Latin America and it is a workout for the past tense: where you have been, what you did yesterday, how long you have been on the road. It also needs the future (¿vas a ir a la costa?), the llevar + time construction, and a bit of social courage — inviting someone to dinner, asking for their Instagram.

Juntos rates "Otro viajero" medium: the AI plays another backpacker who asks real questions and shares real tips, so you cannot get by on one-word answers. It is the scenario we recommend after finishing the past tense course, because every "what did you do?" forces a preterite and every "what was it like?" forces an imperfect. The phrases below use , which is normal between travellers of a similar age.

How the AI session works

You open the Otro viajero scenario (meet a fellow traveler) and the AI takes the other role. In the app this scenario is rated medium, which sets the vocabulary, sentence length and pace the AI starts with. You can also choose easy, medium or hard for any scenario, so the same conversation grows with you from A2 to B2.

Every message you send is scored 0–100 for grammar, vocabulary, fit with your level and how quickly you replied. Tap the score and you see one clear piece of feedback and the specific corrections: what you wrote, what a native speaker would have written, and why. Mistakes that keep recurring are filed into your Error Bank and come back in spaced-repetition reviews.

Prefer to speak? AI Call mode runs the same scenario by voice: tap the mic, say your line, and the AI transcribes it, replies out loud in Latin American Spanish and grades your spoken turn. For a situation like this one, doing it by ear is the closest thing to the real conversation.
