Sensible means sensitive. Sensible is sensato.

Praise your friend for being so sensible with money and you've told the whole table she's touchy about it.

You said
Mi hermana es muy sensible con el dinero.
What it means: My sister is very sensitive about money.
A local says
Mi hermana es muy prudente con el dinero.
My sister is very sensible with money.
Why: Sensible means sensitive. For good judgement, say sensato or razonable, and with money, prudente.
Dinner with friends in Mexico City
Mi hermana es muy sensible con el dinero.
"Ay, pobre. ¿No le gusta hablar de eso?"

Sensible is spelled exactly like the English word, which makes it one of the sneakiest false friends: you don't even feel like you're translating. It means sensitive. Es muy sensible describes someone easily moved or easily hurt, tengo la piel sensible is sensitive skin, and un tema sensible is a delicate subject. So a sister who is sensible con el dinero sounds touchy about money, not careful with it.

For sensible in the English sense, Spanish has a few options. Sensato (or sensata) is the closest match: es una persona muy sensata, me parece una decisión sensata. Razonable suits ideas, prices and plans. With money, people say prudente or describe what someone does: sabe administrar su dinero (she knows how to manage her money), es muy ahorradora (she's a big saver).

The nouns split the same way. Sensibilidad is sensitivity, and sentido común is common sense, which is often the most natural way to say sensible: tiene mucho sentido común. For advice, lo más sensato means the sensible thing: lo más sensato es esperar. And when a word is spelled the same in both languages, that's exactly the moment to double-check it.
