Practise explaining symptoms at the pharmacy in Spanish — with an AI that grades you
A medium-level scenario for the day you feel awful abroad: say what hurts, since when, what you're allergic to, and understand how often to take the remedy.
Pharmacies in Latin America do a lot of the work a doctor does elsewhere, so this is a conversation you will genuinely have. The grammar centres on doler, which works like gustar (me duele la garganta, with the article rather than "my"), on tener for symptoms (tengo fiebre, tengo tos), and on desde for how long it has been going on. Then you have to understand the instructions coming back: every how many hours, with food or on an empty stomach, whether it needs a prescription.
Juntos rates "La farmacia" medium: the AI pharmacist asks follow-up questions about your symptoms, suggests something and explains the dosage, and you have to confirm you have understood. It is a strong scenario for the gustar family, for ser vs. estar with health (estoy enfermo but soy alérgico) and for polite questions. The phrases below cover symptoms, remedies and the questions worth asking before you take anything.

How the AI session works
You open the La farmacia scenario (explain symptoms, get a remedy) and the AI takes the other role. In the app this scenario is rated medium, which sets the vocabulary, sentence length and pace the AI starts with. You can also choose easy, medium or hard for any scenario, so the same conversation grows with you from A2 to B2.
Every message you send is scored 0–100 for grammar, vocabulary, fit with your level and how quickly you replied. Tap the score and you see one clear piece of feedback and the specific corrections: what you wrote, what a native speaker would have written, and why. Mistakes that keep recurring are filed into your Error Bank and come back in spaced-repetition reviews.
Prefer to speak? AI Call mode runs the same scenario by voice: tap the mic, say your line, and the AI transcribes it, replies out loud in Latin American Spanish and grades your spoken turn. For a situation like this one, doing it by ear is the closest thing to the real conversation.
3 mistakes learners make here
- Mi cabeza duele. → Me duele la cabeza. Doler works like gustar: the body part is the subject, you are the indirect object, and Spanish uses the article, not "my".
- Me duelen la garganta. → Me duele la garganta. One throat, singular verb. Duelen is for plural body parts: me duelen los pies.
- Soy enfermo. → Estoy enfermo. Being ill is a temporary state — estar. Ser enfermo implies a permanent condition.
