Travelling to a place takes a: viajo a Colombia. The way you travel takes en: viajar en avión, en bus.
Viajar is the verb; a trip is un viaje: hice un viaje a Perú. Have a good trip is ¡buen viaje!
The yo preterite is viajé, with an accent: viajé a Cuba el año pasado.
