Present
- Siguen comiendo en el restaurante.
They are still eating at the restaurant. - Sigue derecho hasta la esquina.
Go straight until the corner.
Mistakes learners make with seguir
- The stem changes e to i: sigo, sigues, sigue, but seguimos. The preterite has it too: siguió, siguieron.
- The yo form is sigo, with no u: the u only appears before e or i (sigues, siguió).
- Seguir + the -ing form means "keep doing" or "still": sigo estudiando español. Sigo estudiar is a common slip.
